A Local Tissue Transfer, also known as an adjacent tissue transfer (ATT/R) or rearrangement procedure, is a medical procedure that moves healthy tissue from one part of the body to cover a skin defect in another part. The tissue that is moved is called a local flap. Local Tissue Transfers can be used to repair wounds on many parts of the body, including the face, neck, hands, and feet. They are often used to treat smaller defects because they rely on random blood supplies.
